Last year we had a crazy idea as a PTO to tackle our largest and only fundraiser on our own. In previous years our fundraiser company would take a portion of the funds raised. Handling the fundraiser on our own meant that 100% of funds stayed with Desert Mountain Elementary. We set a goal to raise funds to purchase a much needed shade structure. Our families generosity showed up in true form and we raised over $60,000.
In November 2022, we consulted with district and 3 different shade structure companies and went with Shade ‘N Net as our company of choice. Construction began June 19 and we could not be more excited for all of our staff, students and families to see how amazing the shade structure looks.
